The southern route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is slated to stop in the Diocese of Knoxville.
The St. Juan Diego Route, originating in Brownsville, Texas, is scheduled to pass through Chattanooga on Monday, June 24, en route to the Eucharistic Congress in Indianaoplis.
The public is invited to attend several events planned for the day in Chattanooga:
At 10:15 a.m. (EDT), Fr. David Carter will give a talk and conduct a tour of the Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul.
At 11 a.m. (EDT), Holy Hour at the Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul.
Mass will follow at 12 noon at the Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul.
7:30 p.m. (EDT) Eucharistic Procession, music and fellowship starts at the Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul and ends at the Newman Center on the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga campus.

The three other pilgrimage routes include the Marian Route (north) starting in Mississippi Headwaters, Lake Itasca, Minnesota; the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Route (east) beginning in New Haven, Connecticut; and the St. Junipero Serra Route (west) originating in San Francisco, California. The four legs of the pilgrimage will step off on Friday, May 17, and arrive in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Tuesday, July 16, just ahead of the start of the National Eucharistic Congress (July 17-21).
